五、主讲人简介

Jing Meng博士任教于中国宁波诺丁汉大学国际交流学院，博士毕业于英国诺丁汉大学影视研究专业，硕士毕业于北京大学新闻学专业。她的博士论文研究了2001年后的中国历史题材的电影和电视剧。她发表以回溯及中国电影为研究主题的论文包括：'Prohibition and Production of the Past', Media, Culture & Society, 37(5): 671-685; 'Personal Camera as Public Intervention', Studies in Documentary Film, 9(2): 143-160. 

Dr Jing Meng teaches at the School of International Communications, University of Nottingham Ningbo China. She holds a PhD in Film and TV Studies from the University of Nottingham  UK, and received a MA in Journalism from Peking University. Her doctoral thesis explores representations of history in post-2001 Chinese films and TV dramas. Her published work on memory and Chinese cinema includes: 'Prohibition and Production of the Past', Media, Culture & Society, 37(5): 671-685; 'Personal Camera as Public Intervention', Studies in Documentary Film, 9(2): 143-160. 

六、论文摘要

Chinese independent films came to prominence in the 1990s, and since their inception, they are often defined in relation to the state. However, the state is not the only force that (re)configures the meaning of being ‘independent’ in China. The market and transnational influences are also important factors in the reconfiguration of Chinese independent films. Alongside the marketisation of the Chinese film industry, the cinematic spaces have been reshaped and the discourses about independent films are shifting. Apart from the state, the market has become another key factor in defining Chinese independent films.
